LG has made a nice new slider cell phone and it seems they have corrected some of the bugs from some of the past models. Although not as smart as the full blown smart phones it does bring some of us basic phone users to a new threshold.

I mentioned in the video that you will need a cover for this phone due to it's very slick finish. Amazon carries one Body Glove model in two colors but as of this review there are no others manufactured.

Overall I highly recommend this phone if you do not want a phone that requires a data plan and you are not one who beats the crud out of your cell phones. The slider function seems well built but may not withstand the torture some put their phones through. I'm giving this phone five stars because for the type of phone it is I think it deserves it. However I am not comparing it the amazing smart phones that are on the market today. This LG Xpression is not in their class (or price range).

Bought these for my parents

I set this up today for my elderly Mother who uses two hearing aids. This system is amazing! The pendant speaker phone is very lightweight, simple, and functional. The sound is great and it has a voice command feature that allows her to call any of the four speed dial numbers, not just the two emergency dial buttons. She can also use this function to check missed calls and return any she wishes to, as well as to check her answering machine. This means she can essentially use the pendant for most of her calls so she doesn't need all the handsets I thought she would. She feels safer and more confident having this with her all over the house and yard and she doesn't have to remember to have her cell phone with her, something she often forgot. Set up was quick and intuitive, but there are so many features you'll want to read the manual. It has backup batteries in the base so she can use it even when the power goes out, something that concerned me about the powered phones. All the phones have lights that blink when a call is coming in, but they are smaller and not as bright as I would have hoped. This may be offset by the fact that the volume of the ring can be turned up pretty high. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

I've been using this product for a little over a week. It's awesome. I've been getting over 2 days without recharging and with regular-to-heavy use.

In the past, I used Juice Defender to save battery life. When I first installed the battery, i turned it off to test the batter on it's own. I turned it back on after my last charge (in balanced mode) and it's currently showing that I've been unplugged for 38 hours and have 76% battery left. What a formidable combo. I'm guessing I'll get 3-4 days on a charge no problem.

As for the size, it does make the phone a lot bigger (duh). Thankfully, I was using an otterbox commuter case before I bought this, which is just about the same size. The new case is maybe 1-2mm thicker but it's maybe 1-2mm less wide. I personally like the thickness and flat sides of the new case, as it's easier to hold the phone without accidentally touching the screen.

The only concerns I have about this product are:

The weight: As you can imagine, this mega beast of a battery increases the overall weight of the phone. If I had to guess, I'd say it doubles the weight. Not a huge deal, but it will look odd if you carry this in your shirt pocket.

The Case. The case it came with fits snug, I'm just concerned about the longevity of the material and wondering if it would really protect my phone if I dropped it, especially given the added weight.

Overall, 5 stars.

Haven't had an oppportunity to test the NFC. Never did with the OEM battery either (thanks Verizon for blocking/disabling google wallet).
