I set this up today for my elderly Mother who uses two hearing aids. This system is amazing! The pendant speaker phone is very lightweight, simple, and functional. The sound is great and it has a voice command feature that allows her to call any of the four speed dial numbers, not just the two emergency dial buttons. She can also use this function to check missed calls and return any she wishes to, as well as to check her answering machine. This means she can essentially use the pendant for most of her calls so she doesn't need all the handsets I thought she would. She feels safer and more confident having this with her all over the house and yard and she doesn't have to remember to have her cell phone with her, something she often forgot. Set up was quick and intuitive, but there are so many features you'll want to read the manual. It has backup batteries in the base so she can use it even when the power goes out, something that concerned me about the powered phones. All the phones have lights that blink when a call is coming in, but they are smaller and not as bright as I would have hoped. This may be offset by the fact that the volume of the ring can be turned up pretty high. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

My folks love these phones. They said the buttons are very easy to see, the verbal caller ID feature actually works very well and the large format screen is just right. The only gripe I received was that they wanted more of them. In thinking about this, as two additional phones sit in my shopping cart, it would make sense if VTech would offer a package deal with more of the phones included. I mention this as my mom has limited mobility so more phones in a bundle mean less moving on her part to pickup the phone. Other than that minor inconvenience, they are really good phones and will serve you well.
BalasHapusI bought this phone system for my father with Parkinson's. I am so impressed with the design of the phone. First, the main unit is intuitive to set up and comes with clear LARGE PRINT instructions. Plus, there are places for pictures on the front buttons which is important in case of stroke if people cannot read words or numbers. What is most impressive is the portable unit that dad carries around. He no longer has to run to answer a ringing phone--all he does is press a button and the unit works as a speakerphone. Most important is that the portable unit has two buttons to place calls to me or my husband. Already dad has used this a few times to call us when he fell at home. I am impressed with the design and quality of this phone for seniors and others with disabilities.
