Atech Pro 57U SuperSpeed Internal COMPUTER
I debated purchasing this reader due to the price being almost 300% the other solutions out there. However, due to the great reviews I had to try it out. Besides, my case did not have any 3.5 slots, so instead of purchasing a 5.25 adapter, this was a perfect match.
The installation is fairly easy - although if you only have 1 USB3 header on your motherboard, make sure this will fit. It needs a bit of room, and if your USB3 header is surrounded by other components, it probably won't fit. My motherboard has 3 separate USB3 headers, so not an issue - although it would only fit in one of the 3, and is now covering up the other USB3 header.
In terms of performance, this thing is worth the premium cost. For example, I can now play a H.264 720P 60fps video directly off the memory card without any stutters at all. That wasn't even close to possible with my old reader. Haven't tried 1080P yet, but I'm pretty sure it would work just as well.
Like the description says, you must have USB3 headers on your motherboard to use this - or at least 2 internal/external USB3 ports.

Very fast! Works as advertised. No drivers required on my Ubuntu 11.10 machine. Worked right out of the box and I now have additional USB3.0 port as well as a very fast media card reader. I have a 45 Mbps SD card and was maxing out the bandwidth. Once I get a 90 MB/s SD or 100 MB/s CF card, I will see if the results are the same. This is even faster than connecting my Nikon D5100 directly. Also, the design is clean. Just two cables on the inside keeps the inside of the case clean. No need for a bunch of cluttered esata, or audio cables.

After the Rosewill USB 3.0 Multi Card Reader broke off one of the tiny pins in the USB 3.0 socket of my ASUS motherboard, I found the extra-long cables on the AFT PRO-57U would allow me to use the two exterior USB 3.0 sockets instead. It has read every type of card accurately at USB 3.0 speeds. It has saved me having to buy a new motherboard. I wish I had purchased this first instead of the Rosewill product. I purchased both from Amazon.
BalasHapusI purchased this all in one memory card reader when building my custom PC. I have a camera, cell phone, and many other forms of memory cards, and this one reads them ALL! Its sleek, compact, and was simple to hook up. I've put it through its paces and it works very well. Id recommend this!
BalasHapusThis product reads every flash card/device I have. Fits nicely into my case and looks like original equipment - no gaps.
BalasHapusDoing a new system build and want USB3.0 internal card reader for photo downloads. Very few internal USB3.0 5.25 readers available on the market at this time. This takes both inernal USB3.0 ports on motherboard for the card reader and USB 3.0 port on the unit. It was a clean installation, with no problems and seems to work great so far. Blue LED on front indicates when reader is working/reading. Works as expected.
