Very nice under saddle bag

Compared to other wedge packs I've owned, this is just a little less -- well -- wedgy. The slightly shorter, wider, less tapered-at-the-front shape makes it more usable than other packs of the same listed volume, without being too clunky-looking on a nice road bike.

For emergencies I carry a road tube, CO2 inflator similar to Genuine Innovations Ultraflate Plus Tire Inflater, a spare CO2 cartridge, and the Topeak Hexus II Multi-tool which fits a full complement of tools including chain tool and tire irons into a sleek, compact package. Side pockets accommodate keys and protect my old-school flip-style cell phone. By unzipping the bottom expansion section, I can shove in my overstuffed wallet, then re-zip to un-expand and keep everything tidy. Expanded, there would be room for that chubby wallet, a larger cell phone, plus a couple of extra snack bars thrown in as well. Not quite as sleek, but not too bad either.

The velcro straps seem not to attack my shorts at all; I trimmed back the seatpost strap slightly so it wouldn't stick out.

Construction quality is good, and I like the reflective stripe and the blinky attachment.

As a bonus, the color selection is nice. We went all matchy-matchy with a red one to go with my bike and a green one for my wife's ride.

  1. Big fan of this bag. So much so I'm using it on 2 of my bikes. Wanted something that had enough room for a tube, patches, tire levers and a multi-purpose tool yet still allow me cram in a phone and keys. I went with the medium bag and it holds all that and still carries a sleek look on a race-ready machine. It's also expandable if you need the extra space although it does start to get bulky then. I also appreciate little things like having dual zippers making it even easier to access while riding the bike.

  2. I used this bag last week on a week-long bike tour. The side pocket is just the right size for a spare tire. The pocket on the flap is too small for an ID but that fits nicely in the elastic on the side. I was able to fit my ID, spare tire, tire levers, CO2 cartridge, patch kit, bike tool, and a granola bar in the bag - without expanding it. I am very satisfied with it.

  3. I ordered the red one in size medium. The red and black scheme tied into my bike's color scheme very nicely. It looks fantastic. Looks aside, though, it's very functional and sturdy. Doesn't mind the hard trails either. Fits just about everything you need for a decent trip (spare tube, tools, tire levers, keys, cell, money, and a bar in my case). The bottom is expandable via a zipper on the bottom, so you can really cram stuff in there. Haven't needed the extra space except for when i need to shove my entire wallet in there. The little taillight loop in the back is very convenient. Highly recommended!

  4. This bag has enough room to fit my spare tube, tools, lock, wallet and cell phone. It has elastic loops inside that hold my tools, a small mesh pocket on the inside of the flap that holds the USB charger for my lights, and it has a mesh pocket on the side that holds cash and cellphone. One cool feature is the expandable bottom. It adds about 50% more storage space. I would buy this product again.

  5. This is a nice LITTLE bag. It fits totally underneath the seat on my mtn bike, ie; it doesn't bulge out on either side or the back - ok with me. The velcro fasteners are holding it very securely.

  6. I got the medium bag and it fits nice and snugly beneath my seat. I can fit a spare tire tube, patch kit, multi-tool, tirelevers, keys, and flip cellphone in it just fine. There is a hook for the keys and some side compartments inside that are good for keeping cash or your id in. If I needed more room I could even unzip the expandable section, but haven't had the need yet. The perfect amount of room for my needs. There is also a spot on the back of the bag to attach a reflector or bike light which is nice and handy. I'm very happy with this seat bag.
