Arkon Mobile Grip Windshield Mount
Was looking for an inexpensive windshield/dash mount to use my phone as GPS for occasional road-tripping and this fit the bill perfectly. Grips the phone firmly in it's case (probably works better if your case has rounded edges). As others have said, the suction cup is VERY strong, so strong I wonder if it might overpower the adhesive of the dash mount disc. Seems well made and simple, there's not too much that can go wrong with it.
One thing I noticed I want to point out: mine had a small, maybe 5-6mm OD, rubber o-ring in the package. I have no idea if it was supposed to be in there, it's easy to miss and the instructions don't mention it, but it fit nicely inside the "socket" end of the ball and socket connection that a lot of other reviewers say gets loose over time. So I dropped it in there before I connected the two pieces and, for now at least, I have a very tight joint. I'll come back and edit if it still gets loose, but considering the price, 5 stars Arkon!
I have a DROID Bionic with a Trident Aegis Case. I could drop the phone out of an airplane and not damage the phone, but the cost is the combination creates a cell phone the size of a brick. It fits in this holder, comes in and out easily, and I'm very happy with the mount. The mount comes with simple instructions, and if followed the phone goes in and comes out easily. Thumb on the stationary part of the mount, fingers on the phone, push the phone down slightly and pull out. I would recommend to a friend.

This is basically a 2 for 1 deal. Love it. The piece where your cell phone goes is a little stiff and difficult but I'm sure that my phone won't be dropping out of the handle at all. Definitely will be purchasing more for my families car. The one down side is how long the shipping took.
BalasHapusI bought this because this is the only item that I found that will hold my iPhone with my casing on and it didn't disappoint me. It doesn't just hold my iPhone with the casing on, but I'm also able to attach the FM transmitter that I bought that re-routes the music from my iPhone to my car speakers. The other products have this fang-like lever on the bottom to catch the device which will prevent me from attaching the transmitter that I bought and couldn't believe how expensive they are.
BalasHapusThe product is very well made and very sturdy. The suction works like a charm. You can move it around, either facing the driver or passenger. I'm very glad I bought this product. I am a very happy-camper. This definitely served my purpose.
Has no problem holding the Galaxy Nexus or the Razr Maxx. Grips tight enough so there is no fear of the phone slipping down and falling.
BalasHapusI ordered two of this mounts for my HTC Thunderbolt and I regret I didn't ordered three...
BalasHapusThe mount has a very slick look and is very simple to operate, very flexible too when it comes to the size of the gadgets it can hold (up to a Thunderbolt), my Thunderbolt has a protective shell and it fits perfectly! (about 1/2 inch thick). Also the two point hold they used allows for all buttons , cameras and ports to be free of any obstructions when on the mount. Of Course it rotates 360 and the suction cup is very sturdy. Overall an A+ in my book.
Not just for gps, but also dash cam, diagnostics, hp/torque reading, and augmented driving apps. The other mounts that I have had all seem to be very bouncy and sometimes the suction lets go even. This little sucker is so stable you would swear it is built into the car. Especially for hp/torque dyno, the phone has to be very stable, any bounce or give can skew the results, after all you will never find a Sentra with 738 horsepower o.O
BalasHapusNot only is it stable, it has great suctions, I can take the quickest of turns and bumpiest of tracks and not have to worry about it coming down on me. Fantastic little mount for the money :)
